With the meatiest textures of all our recipes, a gratifying assembly of good-for-you ingredients, spiced with chipotle and a dash of yeast extract to wake up the taste buds. Roasted black beans are one of those subtle flavours that tend to add a velvety texture, which is pleasing against the meatiness of ancient protein heroes Seitan and Tofu. Add to that the sweetness of baked shallots, and your delicious meal awaits!

Goes well with…

Stan deserves a chunky tomato salsa as his bed-fellow in a warmed wholemeal pitta and shredded lettuce, or stirred into a wild rice and pomegranate mix.

How to cook!

Use tongs to place into a pan of lightly coated oil of choice, avocado is perfect, or a tablespoon of ghee. Cook for around 9 minutes rolling around the pan on a medium low heat until heated through and a crispy outer is achieved. If you prefer to grill, the results are equally as delicious, use a non stick surface/grease-proof paper.
